Training is going good with my new comp.
Hello,
Good to hear from you guys. And Elder Zondie is actually completely better now, so that was a miracle. it was funny though, we heard that he was better so we went to the mission home in Bots and he was sitting there. But I didn’t know that he had forgotten the whole soccer game, including who hit him, who was my companion. So I was talking to him and it totally slipped out of my mouth when I said, "yeah, my companion felt really bad when he hit you with the ball." It then occurred to me that he had not remembered any of those things anyway, and probably best for me not to say anything. But it ended up being okay. He’s a cool guy.
Yeah, training is going good. My companions name is Elder Dlomo from S.A. Durban. He seems like a sweet guy and we have been getting along fine so far. They just came out with a new legit training system. They are taking training new missionaries very serious now so we have like all these books and DVD’s and things to help us. We also have an additional hour of study everyday and 3 hours of study on Sundays. I thought I would hate it at first but it actually has been really sweet so far. I’m liking it a lot. The period lasts 2 transfers or 3 months. So if everything with his residency goes well, I will be leaving here in I think March.
I’ve also heard a lot about Mitt Romney running again. Selani keeps me updated on all the things going on with that when we see him. So I kinda have an idea of what’s going on. I think that would be awesome if he won. it would help the country a lot. Also I’m a little bit nervous at the same time because if he does anything wrong at all, what is going to be the first thing everyone attacks..it’s probably going to be that he is L.D.S. But overall I feel it would be awesome.
The week has been going really well though, we recently have been teaching this father led family called the Eddy family, which me and Elder Hill tracted out a while ago. And me and Elder Dlomo just went and taught him the other day and man it is just like a miracle at how prepared this man is. He is married and from Zambia with 2 new born twins. When we went and taught him the other day he expressed to us that he feels that him and his wife’s prayers have been answered at finding a church that is close and that speaks English to raise their family in. He came to church this Sunday and he was just so powerful in the classes. With the comments he was making you would think that he was a member. It was just really cool to see that, so I hope everything continues to go well. Church was actually really good this Sunday. The wife of one of our recent converts, Botoki, came to church this Sunday, which was like a huge miracle. Missionaries have been teaching this family for a very long time and the father was baptized about a month ago, but his wife Cicilia like used to hate missionaries before and now since me and Elder Van came there we have just started to build this really good relationship with her and its worked! I could not stop smiling at church it was sweet. So speaking of miracles mom we have been seeing a lot lately it seems.
That’s cool you guys got a new car, I just Googled it and it seems to be a nice car. I bet that’s a lot better than just having one obviously. And to answer dads question, I just don’t really know what I’m going to do when I get home. All I know is I want to go to school as soon as possible and try to get a good part time job. And of course date some nice daughters of God, but besides that I have not thought too much about it. I guess it’s something to ponder about. Time fly’s.
But sounds like everything is going good. Love you guys a lot and I have been praying for your ear mom, so I hope that it gets better. But I’ll send some pics, love you guys take care.
Justin
I am extremely tired today.
Hello,
I’m really sorry to hear about that your ear is still not
doing well, I did pray for you. Maybe you should try that one weird candle
method that nicke did that one time. I’m not sure what that was for but that
just popped in my mind so maybe you should think about it. But I better get
going sorry this is so short I’m just tired and probably not in the right state
of mind, it’s been a random day, but next week I will have updates on my new
comp. Love you guys a lot and have a good week.
Love, Justin
Sadly this email...I am extremely tired. transfer news came,
my companion is being transferred and I am having the opportunity to train a
very new missionary, which is kind of cool because no one has ever been trained
in f-town before, sad part is my companion leaves, so I had to bring him and
another elder down to gabs today (which is a 5 hour drive) then when we got
here we played soccer for about 3 hours, my companion hit the ball into another
elders face who now has a concussion...not sure how to spell that but you can
sound it out. It was pretty freaky he like did not know where he was who we
were and he was only talking in Zulu which is his native tongue. I really hope
he gets better I know him pretty well his name is elder Zondie maybe you guys
can keep him in your prayers. He has been on his mission a little longer than
me. But ya, that’s the update of the day. I’m just beat, and I still need to
shower. So Tuesday I will meet my new comp and wed we will drive up again...fun
fun.
And yes I think that is where we stay, ha-ha I really liked
your description dad. And I like how you took record of all the questions Logan
asked, if he is asking those types of questions I might be a bit concerned. I’m
pretty sure a child that age should not be thinking about so many things. They
should be thinking like how am I supposed to reach that? What happens when I
kick this ball?...how am I supposed to eat all this food? I don’t like taking
baths..things like that. Sorry to hear about the cruise I was excited for you
guys...ish I guess you will just have to wait tell I get back home to
go...darn. It actually kind of worried me the other day on the news (not that I
watch the news) they were showing that a cruise ship tipped over! It was crazy
and kind of made me scared for you guys. So maybe it’s a sign, who knows.
