Hey dad!
Its good to hear from you also, I get pumped up on Sunday night to talk to you guys. Ya we have had fun building the home, sadly I don’t have any pictures yet because I never really bring my camera there because I don’t want it to get smashed or something. It’s actually really hard building a house from complete scratch with nothing but short shovels and l wheelbarrow, but it’s cool.
Ya I’m excited for Christmas I think I might get a little homesick but I should be good. I miss the snow like crazy, but ya its cool. I think we are going to try to get a goat and slaughter it on Christmas day, but they are really expensive so we don’t know yet. We are trying to find a cheap one. We have been thinking about just accidentally hitting one with our car because they are all over the road, but I’m not sure that would be to Christ like. Ya I’ve been reading about 26 pages a day and I think I should be able to finish. And about Missionary Pal I actually got one. I gave my companion 200 pula and like 5 ties. I also was going to give him my sun glasses but he told me he did not want them so I actually have one now, thanks though for getting one and tell brother Young thanks anyways. Ya my companion is really cool, today we were actually wrestling in the flat and it got a little out of control and I kinda threw his hand through the window. It was kinda crazy but kinda funny so know we have this big hole in one of our windows that we had to tape up. His hand was like all cut up. But ya we really do get along he is a cool dude. He gave me like a bunch of Teachings of the Prophets books that I can have for free so that was cool of him.
O and thanks for another package! I really appreciate it. Oh, and we are allowed to listen to soundtracks like Lord of the Rings and Pirates and stuff like that. We are allowed to listen to anything that will not take the spirit away and is not romantic just so you know. And I actually have a CD player … one of the missionaries gave me his for some reason, so I have one now. And thanks for the ID, I kinda need it. I have been driving quite a bit but I don’t really think I am supposed to with a paper license. I have finally gotten used to driving on the other side of the road and the other side of the car finally. Ha-ha I’m glad Cameron is following in my footsteps ha-ha, but you will be glad to know that I sing everyday now and very much. We sing at the beginning and at the end of each lesson with my guitar, so I sing quite a bit. Oh and speaking of singing, our ward (or half of our ward) went to sing at a place called Spar the other day. Spar is kinda like a Wal-Mart here, it was really fun. I had my guitar and we all sang Christmas carols. I’ll try to send some pics.
And I’m actually going to miss putting up all the Christmas lights sadly ha-ha, make sure to send me some pictures of the house please. And yes I’ll call at 7 o’clock. Here our number is 71377796 just in case. And I don't think I will ever forget our number, but it’s great to hear from you can’t wait to talk to you guys on Christmas!
Love, Justin
Hey mom!
It’s good to hear from you. I’m glad everything went good at your school, sounds fun. And we are careful with the axe. But things are going great here so far. This week has been kinda crazy. Time really does go by so fast here it’s just crazy at how fast time goes by. It feels like I was just emailing you guys a couple of days ago. but ya this week has been good. The other day we were at this recent convert Janet’s house, and she lives in a place called Odi. It is a little more in the mountain part of Bots and its really rocky, it’s very pretty there. Anyway, up there is lots of like scorpions and snakes and stuff so the other day we went up there and she said there was a snake she was trying to kill. So we went in the back yard and it was a freaking cobra! My companion is crazy so he ran up to it and tried to kill it. As he did that, it like looked up at me a spit this like crazy acid at me. I had no idea that snakes could spit acid and supposedly it can blind you. It got like on my pants a little bit … I was freaked out, but we eventually killed it. It was kinda cool though, I’ve never seen anything like that before. But ya anyway Christmas is in the air here. Me and some ward members went and played Christmas carols the other day as I told dad. Church is going good, I am the official Sunday School teacher at our church now and I love it. I was so scared my first time but I’ve gotten to be alright at it. We have some really good conversations in my class, its kinda weird though teaching people twice my age, it’s a good learning experience though.
Ya and my companion is awesome we have a good time together. He will probably get transferred in January and I will most likely stay here because it’s my first area. Ya I’m eating a lot and working out every morning. I feel like I am putting on weight but I don't know I am for sure not loosing anything. Everyone here though thinks that I am like 27 because I’m so big, you will find that everyone here is like really small, so they all think I’m a lot older then I am.
And I really hope we will be able to baptize that family on the 26th. We have fasted 3 times and prayed a lot, so I guess we’re just hoping for a miracle. We are seeing this really great kid named Thuso though and he awesome. We can’t baptize him for 3 months though because he is 17. He is going to be such a strong member. You will find that people here have no problem having faith because they have to, because they’re so poor. They have to rely on the Lord for everything because they have no money. The problem is just getting people dedicated to come to church here. They are so laid back they don’t really realize the importance. Last Sunday I gave a talk and I kinda gave it to the members a little bit, that they need to pick it up a little bit it they every want to become a ward in Mochudi, because right now they are just what we call a Unit. But it’s great to hear from you guys I’m really excited to talk to you guys in a couple of days, it sounds like I will be calling around 10 o’clock there, 7 o’clock here. It was good talking to you though tell everyone I say hi!
Love, Justin.
